Applying for jobs abroad comes with lots of hustle. The worries and stress increase exponentially when you apply for many jobs but get an automatic rejection and your resume does not even go over to the interview rounds. Here are some of the key reasons that you are getting rejected with their simple solutions.
1. Qualifications do not match the requirements
In the worry and hurry of finding jobs abroad, aspirants start applying for any job broadly-related or sometime even a new career field that they desire to work in. As a recruiter, the candidate must fulfill minimum qualifying criteria to be short-listed. Therefore, you must carefully review the requirements of each job you are applying for to ensure that you have the necessary qualifications. Do not randomly send the same CV and cover letter to all companies, modify them based on the job requirement. It is easier to find job in your current domain when you are applying from abroad then to switch to a newer direction.
2. Incorrect resume formatting
Most businesses now use an ATS (Applicant Tracking System), which automatically screens resumes. The software decides the compatibility of the candidate with the profile. Candidates who the ATS believes are a good fit are forwarded to a hiring manager or assigned a weighted score based on skills and experience. Approximately 70-80% of resumes are rejected by an ATS, and many times this is due to incorrect resume formatting. Always use the nationwide accepted CV format. For European countries, you can use Europass CV format, it is free to use.
3. No keyword optimization
ATS first judges if you are compatible with the job but to score high in ATS, you need keyword optimization. Add as many relevant keywords from the job description in your resume to get a high score. Always tailor your CV and cover letter based on the job description.
4. Your application is incomplete
Due to many applications in hurry, it is possible to miss out on important details. Read the job description carefully to know the exact procedure and requirements for the job application. All documentation need to be attached.

5. The company doesn’t sponsor visa
Not all companies sponsor visa. So if it is not mentioned in the job description then your application will most likely be rejected immediately or rejected after confirming with you during the interview. Apply to international big companies that sponsor visa as well as they have high recruitment demands. In addition, look for smaller companies that specifically mention that visa sponsorship is provided.
